DecisionOps Documentation
Overview

Key Concepts

Learn the minimum vocabulary you need before using the dashboard, GitHub checks, or MCP workflows.

DecisionOps becomes much easier to use once a few ideas are clear.

Decision Record

A decision record captures a meaningful choice, its context, its alternatives, and its consequences.

Scope

Decisions can apply at different levels, such as organization-wide guidance or repository-specific exceptions.

Lifecycle

Decisions move through states such as draft, accepted, deprecated, or superseded so teams know what is current.

Governance

Governance is the layer that decides how strongly a team wants to enforce existing decisions in day-to-day work.

Observability

Decision history, suggestions, review activity, and monitoring help teams see whether guidance is staying useful over time.
