Policy Modes
A lookup page for the common repository policy modes used by pull request decision checks.
The most common policy modes are:
- Advisory: surface findings without blocking work
- Soft block: require action for conflicts, with override paths
- Hard block: fail conflicting changes until they are resolved
Choose a mode based on how mature and trustworthy your decision inventory is. Teams often start with advisory and increase enforcement over time.
